Growing Pains

2008 for Hit Those Keys has been a year of growing pains. I have enough of a profile now¹ that I get plenty of requests-for-proposals, but the volume is high enough that my turnaround even on proposals is woefully slow. (Hint: if you’re waiting for a proposal, don’t hesitate to contact me and give me a nudge. You’ll go right to the top of the list.)

So it seems counter-intuitive in the face of a such a pressured work-load to take any time to reflect, but that’s what I’ve tried to make time to do since the girl and the boy went back to school.

Counter-intuitive, but not wrong. I haven’t stopped working on the projects I’ve promised people I’ll work on. I have, however, tried to be mindful during the times that I’m not actively engaged in work to not beat myself up for not working longer hours. (The latter is hardly possible.)

1. I’ve realized I’ve even made my online presence much more muted in an attempt to dampen things down a bit. But that’s another post, on some design tweaks I don’t have time to make right now. Hmm. I think I’m back to those growing pains again.
